Used Parts
Just wondering where you draw the line when it comes to using used parts, for instance my mech tells me not to use pistons and cyls unless new, that sort of thing, what do you all think and how far do you go?

I'll bet your mech will gladly sell you a new set as well!

Sometime used parts are all that are available.....if they are within reasonable spec....not Motor Meister spec....no reason NOT to use them.
Your wrench is just trying to pad the bill.

I've bought used P+C that spec'd out as new. No reason not to use them and so I did.
Just make sure you check all the tolerances.

I think careful evaluation of parts is where it is at. A part right at the wear limit is not ok, but one with 50-75% of it's life remaining may be ok.
After all, my car contains 100% used parts and seems to run ok. How many used parts are in yours? ![]()
