Front hub dissasembly

slide hammer ...

In otherwords, I create a 10mm threaded fixture for my slide hammer, thread it in and use the slide hammer to pull it off?

Be careful to thread the 10mm slide hammer screw just until it bottoms. Any further and the crappy braze or friction weld that holds the threaded portion on the cover will pop off...Ask me how I know

As always, thank you for your help. Now to figure out which struts to replace my old ones with. The current ones have the old style pinch bolt to hold them on the ball joint and- judging from the cars reaction in high speed sweepers- I think the bottom area where the pinch bolts clamps has some play in it.
