Snow, in SoCal??

After replacing my front hubs and brake discs and installing my new Al Reed-finished Fuchs, I needed to go for a drive. Had a good, spirited drive until I got to Sunrise Highway in the Laguna Mountains and had to slow down because of traffic and...SNOW!

Makes me feel kinda homesick, I grew up in the Midwest and kinda miss the whitestuff.

What, post more pics? No, I couldn't, well, okay... this is my favorite view.

Noah, you're crazy! I would never think of driving my car in that stuff. Just how well do our cars handle in the snow?

rnln,
Sunrise Highway, aka California S1, runs generally N-S about 30 miles east of San Diego on I-8. Hwy 94 will also get you there, and is a whole lot more fun.

Man, you guys from the midwest don't even know what deep snow really is. Yes, it snows all winter where you live and it is fairly cold, but if you want to see real snow, come to the High Sierra and see what 15 to 20 FEET of snow on the ground looks like. The High Sierra will get 5 to 10 feet of snow in one good storm, courtesy of the Pacific moisture feed that streams in.

The nice thing for us Western skiers is...we can leave it at will by simply getting into our cars (or 4X4 SUV's) and driving out of the mountains.

Ya gotta love the West!

Beautiful Carrera, btw!
