Motor Meister

I just read a recent thread about someone who spent alot of cash with Motor Meister and it seems the replies indicate MM is not a very popular or well respected shop. Could someone fill me in on how they earned this lowly reputation?

Thanks John

Yeh -- we should set up a betting pool on what will be next month's topic...

Do "home work" new person! Please. This topic has been "thrashed" here for almost ever. If after reading several hundred pages of past post and you still have thoughts and concerns, ask!

Were not cruel, just tired of the topic. Way to much bad energy. Porsches are positive great toys and topics like MM just drag us all down. Yes they need to be told, but it gets old faster than my car makes revs.

Thanks

Well I am so happy to hear that I am wasting your time. Just so you know I did do a search using the key word Motor Meister and not much came up and that is why I asked the question but I am sorry I wasted so much of your time.

Thanks John

Motormeister...one word. Try that in your search. Bottom line? They seem to have a very high percentage of UNsatisfied customers. Also, advertising a motormeister rebuild is NOT a way to add to the value of a car.
Clear enough?

Here's a link to what my one word search came up with:

Maybe try *meister* ...should be tons of posts. It isn't about wasting our time really, it's just that the topic has been beaten to death over the years

Here's a super short summary:

1) MM is known to install used parts from other people's engines on newly rebuilt engines.

2) Photographic evidence of badly smoking engines.

3) Claims of big bore conversions that don't make sense.

4) Bone stock worn out 2.7 motors with five blade fans passed off as race ready.

5) Good quality parts attached to engines sent in for rebuilds have gone missing, replaced with crappy used stuff.

6) General gross overcharging for run of the mill parts like fuel system parts.

It goes on and on and on. Kinda wierd really.

Maybe it's better that the this question keeps coming up - The more it is on the front page the less chance someone makes a mistake and goes to the crook.
You guys who are sick of the question can always ignore it.
Peace.

John

John,
We have a 550 spyder with a six in it. I'm guessing from your user name that your proclivities run in the same direction. Our first six was a Motor Meister machine work victim (someone else did the assembly - another issue).

Our experience was very painful and very expensive. Please do not do this to yourself... Call or email us, whichever you prefer. I'll keep the cell on today.

John, some of these P-heads are really giving you a hard time. They must be the one's who "didnt do a search" before they got screwed by Motormiester and lost all their cash. Otherwise, why would they be so upset and tell you to do the same thing they didnt do. Guys, when I started on this board, there were not any "how to" instructions on how to get around, so give the new guy a little slack and help him, dont hinder.

Spyder welcome to the board from what ive read on motor shiester and thats the word you should search on lol, they have screwed many a unsuspecting car enthusist, with there low prices and shotty work. Many posters have been hammerd by them and then had to repay someone else to do it right. Keep searching though and you will be blown away. Again welcome!

Welcome to the Board. No question is too stupid or wastes time.

I'm embarrassed at the amount of time it took for me to figure out what "bump" means in a post. If I'd asked, I'd have known right away.

PS My personal opinion is that I'd stay away from MM.

No need to apologize for wasting our time. Nobody was forced to read this thread, and besides, we're all wasting our time just by being here. We should be doing something productive, or driving the car, or something besides vegging in front of the internet.

So, what's the best oil to use in my car?

MM ( MotorMeister) has earned their rep by having a high percentage of unhappy customers.
My search ( MotorMeister ) brought up pages of threads and many of them a directly about MM
Here is my search
