Something I never can understand. Please look
My car is too old (87) therefore all speaker are all torn. I need 4 but only can buy 2 now, was onsales. And I found that the existing speaker covers won't fit my new speakers since the new speakers are 6" while the old speakers are only 4.5".
I went up to ebay to search for speaker cover and found this cover cost $135 US dollars. They are not for my speaker, just curious at the price. Can any explain why they can be that expensive? Ebay item number 8040009305 |
The speaker covers should not be that expensive. Are you sure the that $135 does not inlude the speakers? Didnt the new speakers you purchased include covers?

Just listen to the sumptuous sounds of the falt six...no speakers needed

The OEM fittment for the rear deck of your Carrera is a unique size -- 4x5 plate. Door speakers tend to be 5.25" round and use a stock cover.
The ebay item you reference is a specialty cover for a Mustang - fits a unique OEM application. Plus it's billet and carbon - those words individually are worth $25, but together are $75. |
LA dismantlers sells salvaged rear speaker grills cheap. Most 5.25 speakers with grills will fit in the doors.

it look like $135 is for the grill only. Way to high for me.
I rarely listen to music when I drive this car. I like to hear the engine rhythm, although sometimes it can give me headache. The reason why I bought speakers just because the PO put in a good system and a pair got torn over time. I just hate knowingly there is a bad pair of speakers in the whole good system. And also I bought them on sales at a very good price, and turn out, no grills. I came back after couple days and talk to several guys. Finally I got another set with everything in the box :) Thanks. |
