ZF LSD compatibility

Hello,

If I understand correct that I was read the 90-era G-50 ZFs fits the later (fine spline) 915s ???

So I want to ask :
A middle (1976 fine spline) 915 ZF fit a 71 911 box ?

THANKS!

No, the '87 & later G50-style ZF is totally different from fine-splined 915.

Fine-splined 915 is '78-'86, which is the same as '76-'86 930.

'75-'77 is a coarse-splined 915.

'72-'74 is another type of coarse-splined 915 (same as 914 / late 901).

All three above 915 types are totally different from the '71 box.

I'm afraid with that photo I couldn't venture a guess. If it helps, G50 and 915 flange lengths are totally different. So, which flange fits?
