difference in the threebond numbers?
Does anyone know the difference between the different threebong gasket materials, 1104 , 1211 and 1212. u was wondering if i could use 1212 to seal my case as i already have a tube of it, but havent been able to find where anyone on the board has used it before.

I don't specifically know the differences, but if it were my engine, I wouldn't risk it. Go with what's already tried and true. Lots of info out there. The most popular ones for sealing the case halves are Loctite 574, ThreeBond 1104, and Dirko (John Walker uses this one). The right sealant is cheap and the effort of re-sealing the case due to a leak is VERY HIGH. I bought the 1104 from Supertec. The ThreeBond 1211 has got more of a silicone base to it and is often used to help seal up the number eight nose bearing.
