Targa Wind Noise

Okay guys, no jokes, yes it's a Targa, and yes it has some noise, BUT, in 10 years as a daily driver I've never run across this before. Background, had the Drivers door adjusted to fix a pretty bad leak. Leak fixed, but now have a VERY loud noise (starts at 40 mph and continues) where the door and window frame meet. Tried all sorts of quick fix adjustments nothing worked until I placed a napkin in the door, problem solved! Any suggestions on what the cause is and what would be a permanant solution? The noise is right where the piller seal and the door seal meets, BUT, this only works if the napkin extends up and over the Targa clasp that starts at the top of the door and extends up about 3 inches. Strange! I had the door checked for air leaks, only one, on the windshield piller, much further up. Fixed this, but the noise still continues. Strange! Thanks for any suggestions! Brad

I had a leak in the same spot on my '84. I found that a small piece of rope under the weather stripping lifted it enough to fill the gap.

David, Thanks for posting that. I have been looking for a copy of that. I now have a copy for myself. It just made my day. Thanks.

Also you may want to check your front windshield gasket. Alot of wind may be comiing through the upper left and right edges of the windshield.
