Early S bumper trim
Wow! Original "S" trim is obviously NLA so the only stuff you can get is repro and what crap it is. I have 3, brand new, front bumper trim assemblies, non of them fit, all have at least one large scratch (2 are still in the original packaging) and all are bent up like pretzels (exagerating). To be honest, I didn't expect it to fit perfectly. I figured I had to put a bit of sweat in it but this is rediculous. This is what I get for my money? To shape them, I've tried anealing, both heating and quencing and heating and slow cool, neither allows me to shape or take out the kinks in the trim. Any others been down this road?

Yes. After a few hours of messing with it I got it mounted and once on the car the gaps and other imperfections are less noticable. I am not sure if the factory one's are any better.

There are no new "factory" units. If your talking about the original trim, I'd beg to differ as Porsche's attention to detail was second to none in these areas. I have my original trim and it is very well fit: no kinks just smooth curves. Problem is, it is beyond restorable condition.
