My father is having trouble keeping a charge in his current battery and wanted to move to an Optima Red top. I know it has to have some custom mounting set ups and I would just like to see what you have come up with. Thanks in advance.

Is the red top better for the car than the yellow top?

Here's my setup for putting an Optima battery in the driver's side stock battery box on a '69 911T. No problems for 10 years (on third battery) and have cleared autocross tech inspection numerous times. There is a heavy foam spacer out of view that prevents the battery from shifting forward in the box, although the metal strap really locks it in place. The passenger side battery box was removed for mounting an oil cooler.
