what colour is my interior please?

I am contemplating a complete replacement carpet set and I believe this is Maroon or Burgundy? Looking at the German Silver Knit carpet.

Can anyone advise what colour it is? Thanks.

Rich,

If that's an '86 in the picture, that's a burgundy interior.

Hi JR

Thanks, yes it is an '86.

Pelican don't seem to list the Burgundy.

Thanks Gordo.

I have done a little research and come up with "Rouge Bodeaux"?

911 3.2 Paint and Interior Codes

http://members.rennlist.com/imcarthur/intcolors.htm

Is that the same as Burgundy?

Carpet Kits ?? What's the difference?

Mmmm, we need the ultimate carpet thread....?

The name appears to be German Sliverknit.

Easy mistake!

Still confused over the colour. World Upholstery only list Maroon!

Are Maroon, Burgundy and Rouge Bordeaux all the same colour?!!

Rich,

The correct name is Burgundy. This does not mean that all upholstery suppliers have material to match it. Many of them carry a limited range of colors, not all of which are an exact match to the Porsche originals. Have them send you a sample, or try another company.

I agree with Gordo; that's a pretty interesting color combination. I like it a lot.

It certainly looks like what Porsche called red bordeaux - more commonly called burgundy. Maroon - from the color chart - is brownish . . .

World also list a wine color to confuse the issue. In real wine - the liquid - bordeaux is a darker color than burgundy.

Thanks guys, I guess I need to do more research as I would like to retain the original colour.

I am contacting Porsche UK to check on the availability and of course price of the oe carpet.

yep, what j-dog said..you can even go online at world upholstery and request samples without picking up the phone. hopefully, their maroon will be a close enough match for you. and i agree..nice color combination.

Thanks. I tried that but it wouldn't submit the form - probably Norton messing with my browser....maybe I'll try again.

Thanks for the information Yellowbird, some suppliers list Maroon! I need to check the codes on the car.

*edit*

Ok, I have been back over the links above and I am 99% sure it is Rouge Bordeaux and not Maroon as the chart lists them both. Now, whether Burgundy is the same as Rouge Bordeaux I do not know!

I wish I never thought of freshening up the interior! I am now a man on a mission....

Yup, and just to add: It's pronounced "sly-ver" knit...another very common error

The interior code should be listed on the options/VIN sticker if it is still intact. If you call/email World Upholstery (www.worlduph.com/porsche5.htm) or GAHH (www.gahhinc.com) with the code, they can tell you exactly what you need.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but that is one slick color combo.
