Search function change??
 

Ok, did I miss a big announcement about the forum search function on this site changing?

No matter what area I'm in (Tech, AutoX/Racing) and no matter what I search for - all I get are results for parts that Pelican offers that match the search.

To be honest, I for one was not a fan of the change last year that took the search result to the store pages but, so be it. Now, (last 2 days or so) all I seem to get are parts that match my search and not postings. I 'm not doing anything differnt than I've always done so, did I miss the big announcement on a change here?????

Use the search button on the top right of your screen

I can but, never really have before - always used the one the lower right.

I was wondering if Pelican is fixing the search in general and it's between fixes right now.

I hope that's the case, because when the newer search was implemented awhile back, it didn't just take me to search results with products around the borders - it took me to a useless search result. I had to click "more results" to actually get the "Good results"

I kinda like having the products around the border, in case I see a product I didn't know Pelican had - but useless search results are just a waste of time

edit: upper right part of screen link gives the good search results...

Works fine for me....possilble user error?

Yesterday, I was trying to find a thread for another Pelican to help answer his question and all I could get was parts!

Now I know the secret :)

I am confused :confused:, the http://forums.pelicanparts.com/images/top_search.gif button seems to work as it always has for me by listing BBS topics that contain my keywords etc. I did not know about some other BBS search function that also showed parts.
