I placed a fabspeed muffler on my '91 C2 and the fabspeed weighed heavier by 3 pounds than my stock muffler, this was awhile back and can not remember the exact weight.

Thanks! 3lbs isn't too bad. I'd like to do the MB911 lightweight muffler but I'm afraid my neighbors might not like it.

The Fabspeed is a heavy muffler, heavier than stock. It is also
LOUD. I cannot imagine Bens being louder. I bought the Fabspeed
because it was the loudest I know of....I like loud ! I wanted
small children to run in fear when I came down the street.
They do !! I do wish it was lighter though !

Send a message via ICQ to GaryR
Keep in mind that on a 964 the single or dual out Fabspeed replaces both the primary AND the secondary exhaust, saving around 35 LB I believe.

hmm, the fabspeed I heard on a carrera was quieter at idle than my stock muffler. Both cars had cat bypass. The car was really quiet at idle but sounded great on accel. The sound clips on fabspeed's side sound the same as this car did.

Anyone have sound clips of the singe out mb911 muffler? I'd love to find one of these on a car in the seattle area so I could hear it in person.

I had a M&K muffler on my 1984... that muffler is super light. Weighs less than my stock cat, I think. And as for sound, it's not too loud at all. At idle, it's almost normal and it's just a tiny bit louder at full blast. I think that I would generalize the sound as being overall "growlier." I loved that thing though.

I asked Pelican and they told me 45 lbs for the Fabspeed, the Danske, 28. A Monty came in at 21 and I went with it. Very happy with it. These were 1 in, 2 out. The Fabspeed looks great but that's too much weight back there. Ken

I'm still curious as to whether anyone has done any dyno work with the MB911 muffler? Does it provide sound at the expense of power?

Good to hear that.

I'm surprised Ken got that heavy a wt. for the Monty.
