Help! Locked-out of the trunk.

66' 911 Can anyone tell me how to get into the trunk, now that the release cable is broken? Thank you in advance!

I had to take the front bumper off and unfortunately drill through the front latch panel...then pryed with a long thin screwdriver.. Mines an 81 so might be different..took a lot of work!!! Sorry I didn't take better pics.

On the long hoods you have to come up from the bottom. So you have to drill a hole in the suspension pan. But when the cable breaks it fails open. So if your cable broke and the hood is still down that means the locking shaft is stuck in the opening probably because it is off center. You should try and push the hood forward, back and each way horizontal. Sometimes you can get them to release with no drilling. Good Luck.

Every time this comes up, we all say the same things. My trick is to drive over a driveway approach at an angle, both ways. The chassis flex usually helps free the plunger.

I just used the search words "open+hood" and came up with dozens of threads. Even using those terms for thread titles only gives up plenty of reading. Good luck.
