Targa harness bar...options?

I don't want to put a roll bar in my 78sc because of the extra weight and It would be overkill for me. Just looking for some added safety on fun runs. Anyone have just a harness bar in their targa? Could the Weltmeister sold by Pelican be modified to work with my targa?

I use the bar made by Stable Energies. Fits right in and co-exists peacefully with my stock 3 pointers.

Please note that due to the high back seats, there are some safety compromises in using a harness due to how the straps are routed and risk of slipping out of the harness. If you are planning to use a setup like mine in DE, think long and hard about a proper race seat.

I use the Brey-Krause. Easy install and it has the harness guides.

Brey-Krause harness truss (as opposed to the harness bar). Needs no drilling (just bolts into existing stock seatbelt shoulder anchor points. And the shoulder belts of you new 4-/5-/6-point harness attach directly to the truss, itself.

Again, because of the sloping "shoulders" of the stock seats, there is debate on how safe it is to use a racing harness with the stock seats.

Thanks for all the info, I just bought a fixed back seat yesterday so that part isn't an issue.

The truss does not work on a targa.

You will need the H harnesses as shown above. The BK has the guides and has posts that run to the lower belt mounts for additional rigidity.

FYI, the harness I am using is a Schroth Rallye 4. It has a separation that allows me to "put it away" when I am not using it.

I wonder if the bar helps reduce flex? Probably minimal because its not triangulated...
