As for the tight splines...

If you've got the end caps off of the front of the A-arms still, then you can get in there with a little wire brush and really clean out the splines. Once they are totally clean lube up the torsion bars and they should tap in with some mild taps of a rubber mallet.

Good luck to you.

Oh yeah, the end caps. I changed my bars last year, and took the end caps off to clean out the splines. Great, and they will slide right in. Replaced the end caps with new caps, dimpled them in the middle to hold them in.

Left front cap popped off at Pocono last year, and the bar walked forward, so that the splined adjuster cap came loose, and my suspension dropped the car right onto the front wheel. Luckily, this happened at a slow section of the track, and not while doing 100+ next to the high NASCAR wall. I got new adjuster caps, and I tack welded the front retainer/grease caps on, just to be on the safe side.

Well, these are new OEM A-Arms, so there shouldn't be any crud to begin with, and I've got the thing all put back togther, and to get to the endcaps would be a pain. The bar slides in easily except for the last 1/16 - 1/8 inch or so, then it gets snug. I'll just have to tap in the last bit I guess.

I didn't realize the A-arms were new. I'm sure the torsion bars will tap right in with some persuasion. I've heard the splines on some aftermarket torsion bars could create a very tight fit into the A-arms.

Best of luck to you.
