Dumb question re charging car battery
Should I charge it in the 911 or take it out and charge on a workbench? Just a little worried leaving the battery plugged into a charger overnight inside the front compartment right next to the fuel tank. Am I just being paranoid?

Banned but not out, yet..

If concerned, leave the hood open so any gas fumes vent while charging or take it out and charge. I don't believe you have any thing to worry about charging it in the car - but if it will help you sleep better, do one of the above.
And now for a disclaimer from my attorney....

I have had one of those "intelligent" chargers hooked up with battery in car all winter. But I guess thats not the type you will use, so it probably does not apply. With conventional charging I would probably do it outside of car primarily to avoid overspill of battery liquid in the trunk.

If your charger has a choice of slow or fast charge select the slow, is safer. The fast charging will cause the overspill in some batteries depending on the brand and quality, I saw one explode once, it was not pretty. I have used my charger for years without any problem that way in several vehicles. I don’t even disconnect the terminals when I do it but it may be a good idea. Having said that I agree that taking the battery out is also a good idea is just that getting a battery out of a 911 is not fun.
