FK brand shell-type bucket Seats

Folks:
I've come across these good looking shell type bucket seats on German Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2451518126&category=23016

Forget the German text and look very closely at the individual pictures at the bottom . Clicking on "XXL-bild" or "XL-bild" will show an enlargement.

I found a domestic supplier for these at very attractive prices. Does anyone have any experience regarding these Sparco EVO / Recaro Pole Postion look-alikes? I'll mention the special price I'm being offered ( including aluminum side mount brackets) later, pending responses.

Those look nice Wil. Do you know if they have a tilting bracket available? Depending on price and some feedback on quality I might be interested.

Hmmm...Very interesting. I have DAD's now, but I'm not sure I have confidence in the crashworthiness of the recliner mech.

Those are interesting. They have the ridges in the back like the 911 Speedster/RS seats.

Available here in US?

Wil, the North Amereican distributor for FK is just around the corner from my house. I will go sown there and take a look for you if you would like.
He is a friend of a guy I bought some cars off in the past so I will see what he can do for us. Be early next week or so.

For what its worth, the full retail on these seat is $299 us. Seat bases are $45us. Fk also has a sport seat that looks like a SRD (sort of) for the same price. Like I said, I will get down there and sit in them and see what the quality is like.

Guys I bought these from a retailer in California. 2 seats shipped for $400 with the brackets!!. He calls them "NEX". ON Ebay in the auto parts section for interior, seats search for "recaro". They are marketed as "Recaro like" so they will pull up. They look like they pulled a mold from the Recaro PP. They are very comfortable for large guys. I am 6'4" and 210 with wide hips (man that sounds unattractive). Any way, They are very supportive. IF you like a really restrictive seat these are not for you. I am absolutlely thrilled with them. They are VERY cheap. They weigh like 12 lbs each?? very light - 1 finger. I figure they are almost disposable. I keep meaning to post some pics mounted. They are not FIA certified or anything. I figure if I am belted in to the roll bar and the frame rails if the seat breaks in a real bad off I will stay put.

Oh - the head rest you see in the pic on E-bay is velcro so removable. Also the cover appears to be removable if you want to wash it or have a fancy cover made.

I did a mountain ride last week with the Atlanta guys and spent 4 or 5 hours in them with no problem.

Also, they are set up for a sub belt, not sure if that is in the add.

My source is in Canada and he will honor the $299 US ( each) price which INCLUDES the aluminum side-mount brackets. No duty or taxes if shipped to you ( for reference , this is about $80 for the pair into New York state where I live).

If you look at the pictures as I suggested, the seat has a hole for a 5th strap.

For dimensions, I gave this distributor the Sparco seat dimension chart, and from his answers, these look to be about the size of the EVO or EVO2's... or something like the Recaro Pole Positions.

Clincher.... he'll sell on a "web special" basis ..for $209 each !

I might go up there ( he's a few hours away by car), to butt-test these myself. Elombard or others...direct feedback would be appreciated posted here.

Wil or Elombard, a few questions ...do the seats slide fore and aft or are they mounted fixed in place?... does anything have to be modified to fit?... where are they made? Wil, the price sounds good. If they pass your PPI I'm in.

These seats look great. Close enough that I can drive up to pick up a pair. If they check out, will there be a massive group buy?
