82 SC respray, then Teflon?!!

My painter reccomends that after, I forget how long, I get my car back from him, that I take it to a Porsche dealership, not just any Yahoo doing Teflon, and have it coated.

My response was "Really?! I thought that the Teflon thing was all hype, and could even have negative effects on paint?"

This guy has an SC himself, has been painting Porsches for 18 years and says done right it'll obviate the need to wax the car for a year or two and also offers a degree of u.v. protection.

He says they'll sell me a 1, 2 or 5 year coating. He says 5 yrs is B.S. but seems to think it's a good thing in general. My SC is my daily driver that gets washed at least once a week.

This guy was reccomended by my trusted Porsche mechanic who's had his own track and road cars and a number of his customers cars painted there over the years.

What do you guys think?

I had mine get the Teflon treatment 2 1/2 years ago, have done nothing but wash it since and I think it still looks great!

aren't those fogs mounted wrong? They look wall eyed. They should be pointing directly ahead.

From this angle, looks like left / right are switched? Can't tell for sure from the photo...

You are not supposed to wax over Teflon.
