Identify 210 RS spec crankshaft pulley

My 210 motor always had the wrong crankshaft pulley. It should have an advance mark tagged at 38 degrees. Instead the advance mark is @ 32. According to my information this makes it '65 - '68 vintage. When the engine was rebuilt it was timed up to the correct 38 degrees so now I just that I want to get hold of the correct pulley. Only trouble is knowing one when I see it.

According to Wayne's book 911s of '73 vintage should have the advance mark at 38, (and I presume) a mark for TDC, and a 5 degrees AFTER TDC mark to set the timing at idle. The RS timing at idle was set AT TDC so I assume the RS pulley differs from the others by not having the 5 after mark? Or did they use the same pulley for both. I assume that there is also a mark for indexing the MFI.

So if anybody could verify my assumptions as to what it should look like with respect to the correct markings that would be a great help.

Many thanks

According to PET, the pulley was the same from 1969 to 1975, P/N 911.102.017.50. I don't have one in front of me to look at how it's marked.

The correct pulley should have an FE mark for timing the MFI. Here is a picture (it's not great but you can see the mark). As far as I know, the RS used the same pulley as all the other MFI engines.

There was no specific RS 2.7 pulley ... it was the same as any 2.4 pulley, and the pic above is the correct one! The 2.2 and earlier pulleys didn't have the 5° ATDC notch to the left of Z1 ... it didn't appear until the vacuum retard module on the distributor showed up on the 2.4 engines ...

Thanks for that!!!! At least now I know it's not specific to the RS which should make it easier to find.

So that makes for another question. Wayne's book gives the all in advance @ 6000 as 38 degrees. This pulley advance mark is @ 35. So what should it be set to as per factory spec, 35 or 38 or what?

I had the compression bumped to 9.5 and run the car on 97 octane min. To be honest I'm going to get this set up on the rolling road now the engine has 3K miles on it since the rebuild anyway.

The spec book says 32° - 38° (or 35° +- 3°) for the 2.7RS.

You can have the pulley in the picture if you need one.

Great thread since I've been looking for the correct MFI pulley for my 2.2.

I currently have the dual pulley for AC and need to swap it out. I still owe it to someone (whom I haven't forgotten and am embarrassed to have taken this long)

Dang Jbell! Have you a nice pretty 2.2 MFI pulley that looks like that 2.4?

Hi Michael... I'll check this weekend and see what I have. Sometimes I'm even surprised what I find in the garage

Hi Michael... I found a couple that are correct for a 2.2. I just need to go through everything to make sure I keep the parts I need for the projects I have going but I'm sure I'll have an extra. Give me a couple more days and I'll let you know.
