Wevo sway bar mounts on a '70
As many of you know, the wevo sway bar mounts will not work on early cars, I believe they only work on 73 and newer. Below is my attempt at making them work on my '70 chasis. I took a 1 inch wide 3/16 metal bar from Home Depot and shaped it around the wevo mount so there would be enough material to sit flush against the chasis and the mount itself.
It's probably easier to explain in pictures, see below: http://www.readynet.com/parts/IMG_5519.JPG http://www.readynet.com/parts/IMG_5509.JPG http://www.readynet.com/parts/IMG_5511.JPG http://www.readynet.com/parts/IMG_5512.JPG http://www.readynet.com/parts/IMG_5506.JPG |
NICE WORK!! Very clean install and GREAT welds, too! Send the link to Hayden from WEVO.

Thanks guys... A special thanks to Ira for getting me the rear sway bar on a tight schedule so we could measure and install the mounts.
One more project accomplished and checked off the list :) |
Mounts should work on 1972 and newer chassis
BTW, very nice install! |
I spoke with Chuck at Elephantracing yesterday (I ordered a pair myself). He said you can cut out or bend over the pinch seem so they will fit flush. Of course, if you cut it out, you would want to weld the two cut ends to the mount so it will "bridge" the two.
But, this is a good idea, too. I have some of the flat stock so I might do the same. |
