Talking Car sounds much better without air box

I was testing my high idle problem today and decided to take the air box off to see if that lowered my idle. I took it down the street and WOW. It sounds like a Ferrari. It took on a lower pitch and almost "gurgling" effect that made it sound 100X better IMHO. I know it's not healthy for the car, but it sounds much better with ther air box/air filter off. Are there any air filters out there that will make the car sound more Ferrari-like? My air filter configuration is stock now.

I run my SC with the airbox cover removed. I used zip ties to hold the filter in place. You can't drive the car in the rain since it will suck water right into the airbox

You can buy a new cover that is basically a ring that goes around air filter to hold it down. They are pretty expensive IMO for a piece of plastic. I just cut holes in mine and it sounds the same.

I leave the airbox cover off my car as well. But, I just use the straps to hold down the filter. It works well, just make sure to snug it tight.

Matt-
Pick up a used airbox cover from parts heaven and drill it out or cut it up, then keep your original in the car in case of sudden rain. As far as the high idle goes, when that happened to me it was a bad Warmup Regulator. It could also be the auxillary air valve, which is a little easier to diagnose than the WUR. If you want help with it, let me know.

Thanks for the offer to help Jon. Cliff is giving me some instruction on how to check the AAR via BAPelicans, but if the AAR is not the case, then I'll be sure to check in with you about diagnosing the WUR.
