Wiki to the rescue:

In 1966, an overhaul of FIA categories saw Group 4 Sports Cars redefined such that they were now subject to a minimum production requirement of 50 units in 12 consecutive months and had to be fitted with all equipment necessary for use on public roads.

Fanstastic resurrection of this car which sat languishing for so long. Thank you for saving it and contributing the great pix here. The video is icing on the cake!

Have you had a chance to dyno the motor and what kind of power does Kremer think is safely achievable with this motor? I know in some of the early 'Classic Porsche' articles you discussed various displacements; did you end up going with a 3.0?

Thank you, mates.
Having her on track again is emontionally something and driving is really addictive.
I have driven a few very good 930 in track- and/or racing- setup, this is absolutely a different story.

Juice, as I wrote I haven't been able to buy the original engine yet, so we built a perfect replica based on a period 3.0 litres turbo. It is according to the specs of the 934/5 engine, which is different from the 934 for the double ignition and Bosch injection pump instead of the K-Jetronic (much better, believe me) and also for the different intakes before the intercoolers, as you can see from pictures.
We did not put it on a dyno yet. We are still testing and improving certain things and some tests are going better than others, so will go to dyno once all this is over. Anyway my gut feeling is that it shall really deliver the 600hp you expect from a 934/5 engine.

Ciao
Paolo

Is that Diego Febles back in the day? I know he had a RSR, but not sure if a 935/5 too. Puerto Ricans are OK, but us DOMINICANS got you beat! jajajajajajaja Viva Luis Mendez! jajajajajajajaja

All in good fun now...

Oh my God, Diego Febles! I haven't heard of that name in more than 30 or so years! Wow when I was a teen back home in P.R. just before I came in the Army, Diego Febles was the main name in racing! Awesome pic!

Interesting.. this is the only factory Porsche race car I have ever seen with street car undercoating on it ..... Look at the link to Starky's photos.. coating on the body near the aluminum chassis tag and coating where the chassis number is stamped. Why would a race car have the street car coating? I have owned a lot of Porsche race cars and none of them has ever had undercoating on the chassis.

Also noticed the rear engine compartment jamb is incorrect for a 934...

I assume you are Mauro Borella? Wow, it is an honor to have u here. What size/type turbo were u running at Misano? Do you remember what mods you performed (if any) on the motor?

Do you know what happened to the original motor from this car after if was sold to Autofarm?
