I have Weltmeister adjustables that are 19 mm front and rear. Stock torsions with Bilstein Sport rear and HD fronts.

What is your planned use?

My setup is proly to light for your use. I suspect you will be using heavier torsion and ARB's.

FWIW, if I was doing serious track, the weltmeisters would not be my first choice due to the "hokey" way they do the adjustments and the way the front bar is attached to the arm for the drop links. It is not very robust. Something like the old Charlie Bars would be better.

hijack in progress... Will those rear sway bar mounts work with a stock sway bar? I have removed the front and rear sways from my '70 coupe, with the intent of putting them on Stinky. Stinky has the provisions for the front bar, all I need to do is clean up some things and I want to paint the drop links, get new bolts and bolt that badboy in.

The rear has no provisions for a sway bar at all.

Charlie Bars

Ok...as suggested, any available out there? Otherwise it's the Weltmeister sport or Elephant racing. Let me know...lots of early parts to trade.

I was super impressed with the Smart Racing setup I got. Much higher quality than Weltmeister, and better geometry as well.

Adjustable, and with so many bars to chose from any car can use them. Worht a look.,

Here's a pic.

My car did not have any provision for rear sway bars. The weltmeister solution was to povide a bar mount that is attached to the torsion tubes like this:

And the ends are connected to the eccentrics on the springplates like this:

The factory ends are connected like this to the banana arms:

think about this..Step up and make the big change it will be for the better. Buy a set of aluminum trailing arms from a 911SC. Then weld in the new sway bar purchase points then an OEM sway bar or after market. You can choose the size you want. That's when the choices become numerous. you can do this, its not hard.

Lars, I just picked up a set of Tarretts from DART and the quality is good. I also had Dave weld on the tabs for the front A arms and reinforce the stock mounts.

Is she painted yet...send pics.

first time in my life that I was forced to follow the rules

Brant...you are right. I cannot replace the control arms with aluminum. But everything else I can remove or replace...I am. The cage is going in tomorrow...had to modify it ...and "check the rules"...but then the fiberglass gets fitted and its off to the painter. Pics will come soon. I need 23 mm front torsion bars...help me Mr Wizard...

I think my best bet for getting a rear sway bar into Stinky would be the bolt on unit... what does one of those setups cost?

Speedo - What size bars did you go with front & Rear?

I have a 70 that will be both a street & track car. I would like the maximum adjust-ability possible...

What size bars did you go with and if if you don't mind me asking, why? (i.e.: what kind of handling will you expect?)

Thanks,

Brent

Our host has them in the suspension section of the catalog. The adapter kit is under $100 plus cost of the bars themselves.

I think the guys at Motion from this board, (Souk and Mike) sell them. I got mine from them and they were great to deal with. I tried Pelican but I don't think they had them at the time.

It IS pricey, much more than a Weltmeister, but it really is a different beast. If you know what makes up great stuff, you'll love them.
