Now in 993 land ...
|
I just sold my SC today
:81 SC Coupe - Street or Track - Great Value! I actually am sad about that, as I had it set up well and it needed nothing, mechanically. I had receipts organized by year and they were getting thinner every year, since I had been through everything. I guess that makes it boring too, as all there's left is driving? But what are you going to do, if you need room in the garage? Below some pics. I took a little drive to help me cope with the loss of the SC ... The car is from a fellow club member -first owner- and tastefully modified and upgraded. Big reds, Fikse FM10, euro suspension, light weight clutch etc. It outruns my SC (which was no slow car either) and all with a 6 cd changer, ice cold a/c, back seat belts ... I know, I must be getting old ...But no worries, I will remain active on this section of the board. I would miss the chain tensioner questions, if nothing else! And of course the valve adjustment questions. And count me in and brace yourself for the Mines road runs!Cheers, George

Great pics,George,and congrats.
The left side of your rear bumper is sticking out a bit too far. You might want to get under there and make sure all is well.

Well, I already miss the "rawness" of the SC and the 915 will forever be on my mind! It may be because the car is modified, but it seems to be a locical evolution from the earlier cars. I do not know what folks mean with one being less "connected". A 993 may not buy you much at autocross, but the car seems to be at home at higher speeds. Maybe we do not see it as much here, but in Germany, with no speed limit, it is very important to be competitive at 150+ mph.George |

I know what you mean, George. The 915 is an outstanding piece of equilibristic engineering art.
![]() Oh, and donīt you dare wandering of from this forum. A lot of us need to take advantage of your knowledge.
