Dashboard indicator -what is it?
 

My wife took the 86 carrera this morning to work. She called to tell me that the indicator light on the dash board is on.

It's the dashed circular indicator light right next to the brake light. As I recall these indicators are above the radio on the dash. I just can't picture what it is. It's driving me nuts.

What's the indicator represent?

Sounds like the warning light for the brake lining thickness. The brake pads in one of the brake calipers has probably worn to the point that the wear sensor has been breached. Have the pads inspected for thickness.

Thank you. Now I can visualize it since I've had that one before. Just when you're driving to work and you get a message from your wife that lights on the dash are on.... you worry a little.

It could also be that she didn't release the hand brake all the way -- ask me how I know...
