73 light weight suspension set up.

Hello,
I need some advise on how to get the right package for my light weight 73.
The car is 73, 991E , RHD. with 3.2 engine. 7/16 front 8/16 rear wheel, 4 days/week on street use and once a month on track.
The shocks have to be upgraded for the 930 turbo brakes. (I've got a set of 2 years old green biltstien rear and front inserts)
Need new torsion bars (believe the old set has never been changed)
The car comes with only front sway bar but no rear sway bar.
How could I determine what size of the new torsion bars and sway bars for upgrade the ride for my driving purpose?
Thanks
Burint, Thailand

This is just one data point for you. Mine is a fairly light 72. It will in the end depend on how serious your track intentions are and how much you'll put up with or give up on the street.

I really liked my 21/26 TB's for street. It truely felt like a performance OEM install (of course this was OEM in a heavier 930). I think it is the optimum for street use. I have since gone up to 22/28 hollow and though it certainly is flatter, it is noticeable on broken pavement. Those lucky enough to be in Cali might error stiffer, but eval your own road conditions in Thailand.

Most will certainly recommend stiffer Bilstiens. After these changes, I would look at swaybars to tune it to your liking. Carrera bars are an OEM upgrade but you loose through body install. You will seem to find the most varied opinions here. Some run just front, some near equal and I've seen hardcore guys running larger rear to help turn in. That can bite you in adverse conditions on the street.

Any aero changes? Tires? Ride height? Alignment?

My SC -> RS Lightweight weighs just over 2200lbs. I have 22/30mm torsion bars, Tarrett sways front & rear, Bilstein Sport shocks re-valved to match the other components. I am running 7x9 Fuchs. It's just on the border of being too harsh for long highway miles. But, on the twisty flat stuff, it's fantastic.

I'm working on the same project, 72 RS lt wt. I upgraded to SC trailing arms, sway bar, and adjustable spring plates. It was a bolt in except for welding in the swaybar brackets. Don't know if I saved any wt but it sure looks nice.
