1969 rusty coupe, where to get rust panels?

i am looking into the posibility of buying a 69 coupe with lots of rust in the floor and door sills.....where does one get rust replacement panels for a job like this....or should i pass

If you can get the car for a reasonable price, given its condition, and you can handle the work, you can get floor pans, inner & outer rockers from our host. Just check out the new parts catalogue.

Pelican or
www.*************
www.restoration-design.com

They both have loads of repair panels. I dont know who has better quality but stoddard always seems to be cheaper.
I am leaning towards Stoddard Or Pelican for my panels.

69 is the longer wheel base. 69 and earlier were the short wheel base models.

69 already has the longer wheelbase. It's the first year. But, it just depends on what hood and bumpers you prefer. Typically the midyears are cheaper than longnoses.

how do i know a longnose?

when did the short nose start?

Rich76_911s 03-10-2006 10:51 AM

The short nose started in 1974. the 74-77 year cars are called mid-years and have 2.7L engine issues.

Also there has been some trouble in the past getting replacement panels. I think if you do a search on restoration design you'll find a couple people that have been having trouble get parts. I think even Wayne (CEO of Pelican) has had trouble getting the parts. I could be wrong but that is an FYI. I don't know anything about stoddard.

Sounds like it already has rust panels; I suggest looking for repair panels (thank you, I'm here all week, try the veal), or better yet, a cleaner car.
