Leather optioned?

Were middle year 911's, optioned with leather seats, fitted with vinyl door panels and vinyl rear seats?
Only I saw a such recently... Was it right?

Porsche interiors have traditionally had a lot of options. Vinyl and cloth were typically starting points and increasing amounts of leather were available. You could get leather on the front seats, on the face only, or in conjunction with cloth on the seating surfaces, or you could get seats that were leather covered front and back. Vinyl was typically used elsewhere in the interior, sometimes with cloth accents. Leather was available on most interior surfaces as part of a "full leather" option. Some years, leather dashes were available, some years only vinyl dashes were offered. Some full leather cars were optioned with vinyl on the upper surfaces of the doors, rear quarter trim, rear package shelf, etc. to reduce the problems of sun damage. The later cars with full leather had more things covered in leather than the early cars.

A car with leather seats and vinyl trim everywhere else is pretty common.

COA (if I'd ordered one. Never saw the need since the factory wrote me a nice letter in response to an inquiry letter I sent in the days before "kardex") would say "Full leather interior"...all the beige seen is leather, the black is plastic. The rear deck under the window, the rear seats, side panels, also leather.
The car is a 1972.

The interior of my SC is full leather. The dash (upper and lower) the entire door panels, center console, front and rear seats. Side panels in back as well as the rear shelf. Ironicly the shift boot ids the standard rubber plunger, go figure. Here is apicture I took of the interior shprtly after getting the car. I have since reconditioned it with some leather conditioner.

Factory optional "sports seats", available during the pre 1974 years.
