Clutch trouble

Hello,

The other day my clutch stopped working on my 1970 911T as I was shifting from 1st into 2nd. I pressed the pedal in and it went all the way to the floor, and did not come back into position. The car is stuck in neutral. I jacked it at home and looking under it noticed that the clutch cable was slack and disconnected from the block at the end of the cable. Trying to diagnose the problem I disconnected the cable from the fork. The fork is loose, and can be easily moved around. I tha daigarm I have of the the clutch the fork appears to pivot on a bolt. Could this bolt have come off? Could the nut securing the fork have come loose?

Andrew

Same thing happen to me. It's most probably a broken clutch fork pivot bolt - the '70-'71 "type911" tranny is infamous for this.

Check out the diagram here (part #5):
