Heat exchanger removal?

I am planning to remove the heat exchangers on my 79 SC and replace them with headers, no heat. My question is this;

The two aluminum and paper hoses that come off the exchangers and go to the big black blower motor. Can I just remove them and leave the two opening in the blower motor? Or what should I do?

Cheers John

Just take the motor and associated hardware out. Won't need them with headers. You need to block off the openings in the fan housing though to makes sure you get proper cooling over the cylinders!
