Window Judder

Today when I was rolling up my drivers side window, I noticed that when I got about one turn from the top, the window juddered and popped. It will still roll up and down but the top motion is "odd".

I am thinking that the pivot pin on the drivers side is starting to fail .

Anyone got an alternative idea of the cause?

Pop off the door panel & take a look. It's pretty easy to do. Don't remember if Wayne's book addresses this or not. If it does, it would be a good resource for you. Taking the window frame out & then the window is pretty easy too. After that the regulator can be removed if that is the problem. Could be the felt in the window track wearing out, bunching up or ?? Good luck.

Marv,

Thanks for the thoughts. I already replaced the pivot pin in the other window. Not a hard job with the glass and frame in, just requires patience.

I have never pulled the window frame but I may need to as the fuzzy strip in the window channel is quite worn.

Any other ideas, anyone?

Harry,

Have you check the alignment of the window in the channel? Perhaps it is a little off and the glass is pushing hard against one side of the window channel felt.
