Wet windows..........

I've noticed that even a day or so after a car wash or rain storm, that if I put put the widows up and down......they're wet .
Is this normal? Or is my door retaining water because of some drainage hole that clogged. Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Most cars I have ever had displayed that phenomenon. Of course all of them have been at least 10 years old. Certainly goes for my Carrera too. Never thought much of it. Perhaps this thread will show I should..

That's funny.
This is one of my pet peeves.
You just DO NOT roll the windows down after washing and drying the car. This goes for all of our vehicles, not just the 911.
Drives me nuts!!!!
It's taken me 6 years to "train" my wife not to do this.

Um, yeah, I'm a little anal about my vehicles. Sorry about that.

It probably has a lot to do with different variables;

1) Whether you park in or out of a heated garage overnight
2) What the ambient temperatures are through the course of the day and night
and 3) because you forgot to dry the window inside the door!

I think its the felt seal along the bottom of the window. It gets wet, and transfers the water to the dry window.

Sometimes you have to wait hours and hours before you can lower (and raise) the window streak-free!

Actually, I posted the same issue a year or so ago. I have the same issue and bugs the crap out of me. It would take days before you could roll down and up without streaks. Of course by the time it is dry, it is due for the next car wash.

I wash my car once a week. (Car is faster when it is clean!

Some of the Pelicanite would actually place a tape between the seal and the glass before washing the car. I tried that.....only when I have the patience!

Someone told me that I need to disassemble the door/glass and replace the squeegee (sp?) piece due to it being old. Someday....someday.......

What sqeegee is that? The piece of rubber at the top of the door frame?

Not sure. I could probably look at the the Bentley tomorrow. In the meantime, take a look at this thread....

Wet Windows? Aaargh!!!

Maybe, it is caused by the San Fernando and Conejo valleys weather....

Mine does it too, I checked the drains holes, all is well.

My "system" is on the first drive after a wash, up and down go the windows, allowing the wind to dry them each time. A few times of this and they are done. THEN I clean the windows.

Just annoying I guess
