headlights..one on, one off
On my 1970 911, the drivers side only headlight comes on. The passenger is off. When I go to high beams, they both are off.
All four parking lights work. The tail lights work also. I tried the fuses/wiring to the fuses, they look good. The connectors/plugs are tight also on passenger and driver side. Whats next???????????

Try the bulbs. Typically, there are 2 filiments. One for low beam, the other for high.
Start with the simple! Then dig into the wiring diagrams! Good luck Brad

Could be a combination of a burned out low beam filament and a bad high beam switch under the steering wheel. Both are easy to check and fix.

not the bulbs...
Howard n Brad, Thanks for the tips..
I just tried swapping the H-4's..No change!!Something is up with the passenger side wiring.. Regardless of which H-4, passenger side is VERY dim,(thought it was off) drivers side is fine. Push the stalk for high beam, both go out. I traced the wires from passenger side to drivers, to the fuse box. No fuses burned, no loose wires.. Any one??????

How do your headlamp sockets look? Are they clean? If not, clean them up, put a dab of dielectric grease on them and reassemble.
Try a few simple tests. Pull fuses 1 to 4 in the lower fuse box. (this disconnects the headlamps from the switches.) Check wiring between fuse and headlamp-Connect a wire (12-14 ga would be good), to the battery positive terminal and touch the left side of fuse block positions 1 to 4. Hit each one in turn and see if a lamp comes on. If you have a dim/dead lamp, pull the lamp and use a voltmeter to see if you have power at the headlamp connectors. Check wiring from battery, through switches to fuses-Get a volt meter and put key in ignition and turn on headlamps. In low position, you should have 12 volts at the right side of fuses 3 and 4. Put the high beams on and you should have power at fuses 1 and 2. Report your findings.
