930 trailing arms on early car question
I have a small dillema here, but I know that what I am attempting to do here has been done before time and time again. Any Input/help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 73 911t widebody with smart racing camber boxes and 930 trailing arms. Can I use the 930 axles along with my 915 transmission? How have others done this in the past? My 915 is set up four four bolts and two pins at the axle flange? The 930 axles are six bolt. What does the flange look like on the 930? will I have to have my flange machined to bolt up to the 930 axles? would this even work? I know that this is a hot/expensive setup and that many opt for using the regular aluminum arms with pivot boxes, but since I am allready so far along in terms of money and time spent, I intend to complete this project. Thanks again for any help!!!! |
gonna give it a quick bump here!!!

1/2 bump....thinking outloud: Can you change drive axle flanges on the 915? I don't know the 930 transmission at all. did later 915 adopt 930 drive flanges?

Well once I figure out how to get the flange out of the tranny I might post some pictures of what I am working with. I was told that the 915 had a fine spline flange and a coarse one as well. This tranny I am using is original with my 73 I believe. Thanks for the reply! Any other input would be appreciated. I will make a honest attempt at removing my flanges this eve.
