Fair Price for servicing a 911 89?

Just got my 911 back from wrench . Wanted a second opinion on the price he charged .

Oil Change , Filter ( my own ) Fuel Filter my own , changed out my left mirror , I brought parts .
His oil , Valvoline 20/50 11 quarts . Checked car out and inspected fluids etc ....

Total; $ 226.00

Do you guys seem this is a fair price ?

It's just about the hours. 11 qts valvoline 20/50 will run about $30 at the store. Oil chang .5 hrs., fuel filter change, .5 hrs, left mirror change .5 hrs, checked out the car and inspected fluids ... ?. What is his hourly rate?

I'm surprised it wasn't more than that.

Paul @ Ventura Independent is the best at what he does .
He is clean and Honest .
You don't need to wipe the grease off your steering wheel when you receive your car back .
I HIGHLY Reccomend Him

Just so used to Jiffy Lube for my daughter's Honda @ 35.00 to 45.00

Yeah, that sounds good and fair. Independant mechanics go for around 75 bucks an hour or so. Plus all those parts....

Next time try doing the oil yourself, you dont even need to jack the car up... Shops that never worked on a 911 will most likley overfill the car, beware. They read in the manual that it takes 13 quarts and proceded to overfill it by 3 quarts!

Any decent Porsche mechanic in the LA area charges $90+ per hour labor. You came out fine. Older Porsches become much cheaper to own when you do minor work like this yourself, otherwise they will nickel and dime you to death.
