Newbie here: My first porsche

OK, give me the good and the bad of what you think.

1978 911 SC with a 95 body mod

This car is on it's way to me. It was a lien sale, I've got receipts from the engine and suspension and clutch being rebuilt with less than 200 miles. I know I'll have to get the CA smog crap for it, or I'll just register it up in Oregon at my brothers place. Story is a DR. had it sent it in for repairs and told them to do whatever it takes. when finally done the bill with labor was just over $20K, the good Dr. decided the car was not worth it to him, so he said to just keep it. Thus the Lien sale . I have a good friend that is a Porsche mechanic, and I've been working on my own cars for years. I have connections for parts thru the VW parts co. I work for.

Welcome to the board! As you will find this is a great resource and very addictive.....

Its great that the car has had the engine rebuilt. I wouldn't think there should be too much of an issue if you need to smog it if and the rebuild was done right.

In my opinion the good is the amount of work and $$ that has been put into the car. The bad is the modifications to make it look like a 95 - Not that there is anything wrong with your car only that I am partial to the classic lines of the SC, Carrera's, etc.....

It looks great the way it is. If you need smog equipment I'll be removing it all from the '78 911SC I'm buying soon and I will probably be selling the complete system.

Welcome to Pelican! Is it stock SC inside or has the interior been updated also? How about a couple more pics!

I Have all the metal smog lines, air pump brackets and cat etc if you have trouble finding them locally. They are from a 79 Sc with 68K mi.
My car is exempt from smog regs here in pa..

Not sure, I didn't really ask. That was the story I got from the place I bought the car from, From the receipts I called the place that did all the work to verify everything, and got the same story.

Evidently a Doctor that didn't want to pay his bill!
