Texas World Speedway this past weekend...

did anyone here go to that event in College Station, TX? I stopped in there to take a peek. I saw some nice cars, the weather wasnt optimal, kinda rainy and there were a few unfortunate wrecks as well. Nobody got hurt.

I was just wondering if anybody from the board was in attendance.

I couldn't make it out. Our Hill Country Region was a co-organizer/sponsor. Lots of our local crew went out. email reports make it Sound like they had a good time.

I went there Sat and Sunday with my son. Was fun. Saw the races. Some GT3 races. They were fast.

I saw a stock Honda S2000 that raced against some of the older porsche 911, Boxster,993, M3, a Viper, Lotus Exige and a Ferrrari 360 Modena in the stock class. He led the race the whole time by about half a lap. However, the next day, he was 4-5th behind. I suspect that there were better drivers in the second day. The M3 lap the rest of the field. Pretty interesting that the Honda did so well against the field. M3 was impressive, but boring in looks.

I was there working a corner. the weather played a big part,
There was a nasty wreck on Saturday, a Porsche Cup Car
got totaled, driver OK, car.... not OK he rolled it three times.
That was the only serious incendent. What John saw was not
a race but a DE a drivers education event. That Lotus was a
really nice and well set up car. The DE's are lots of fun and
you learn alot about your abilitys and your car.
