$33,500 for a 72T
http://www.europeancollectibles.com/inventory_detail.aspx?@page_inv_id=Po1597
Well, I know longer think I overpaid for mine!!! Of course, I don't have sport seats. What could make this one so valuable? I understand the engine has been rebuilt but...

I am having trouble with my computer opening the page....however....A lot of places will jack the price way up hoping some fool will spend the money (some will)...just because he is asking big figures does not make it a big ticket car.

I guess what I'm saying is, is the market for early car this strong?
Now I only like the early cars, but let's face it, you could get 2 very nice SC's for this price!

I think that's probably 10k too much, but it is a nice car.
I think they're basically waiting for a fool to come along... because we all know... a fool and his money are soon parted!

I think the market for early, truly rust free crs with records including quality rebuilds is strong, very strong.
But I also think an SC with low miles, thorough records, no rust and quality, tasteful upgrades is strong too. I think with the early cars, things have gotten out of whack. They're worth a lot..."whatever someone will pay" is the usual logic. Personally, as much as I would LOVE to have an early car with the description I just gave, I'd spend a third to half as much for an SC long before I'd drop 30K for a T.

I've been to the dealership - he has plenty of nice cars plus does the restorations - primarily 356's.

high, but not shockingly so
Noticed that he has similiar cars priced in the 25k range.
This one must be the most cherry- and it is also a non-sunroof model which makes it more desireable. The price may be a bit high, but nothing out of line with the higher priced sellers such as Sloan Cars. http://www.sloancars.com/vs1/detail.asp?CarID=137 |

It's only too high if you don't already own one!!!!
Quit complaining, buy an SC now, and wait 10 years, and we will all be complaining about how much an SC is...

Geez whiz that is a sweet ride with them "all so desirable sport seats" but that is high dollar for that many miles on a T. I do not get it either. Maybe some Euro-->dollar conversion dude will not think twice and buy it.

I doubt the SC will ever experience the sort of appreciation the Early cars have undergone. It's not about the age of the car. Its their uniqueness and place in Porsche history. While argueably, the SC might be a 'better' 911, it's not unique. The Carrera looks the same and is even better, the 964 better yet, the 993 ..... now that's got some potential as the last air-cooled car and its styling.

I, too, find it hard to believe the SC's will appreciate like the early cars. Among many other considerations, aren't their production #'s substantially higher?

That car caught my eye too, as it looks just like a '73 coupe I recently purchased 50 miles from my home. It's a one-owner AZ car with 91K documented miles, serviced by the same shop for the last 25 years, rust free and original save for Webers instead of CIS (no problema).
The only major faults are a "10 foot" repaint (correct color) and tatty carpet. It has factory Recaros, the original tool kit and non-cracked dash. I paid $13K. Good cars are definitely out there, so keep the faith brothers! Pardon me for being windy, it's my first post...

![]() My '70T that I paid $10.5K for 2/1/2 years ago. 135K miles, quality restore/repaint and engine rebuild, from original owner with all docs, tools, records, etc since new. Now I don't feel that I overpaid at all, not that I ever did. It was worth the price to me.
