Bosch wiper blade refills?

Why can't you buy bosch wiper blade refills anymore? I'll I've been able to find is the entire blade assembly, I'm just looking for the rubber blade scraper part. You used to be able to buy just the rubber refills....has anybody seen just the refills for sale? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Biff

Last time I bought them there was only about $5 difference between the entire blade assembly and wiper refills.

I couldn't find them at the perfect size. Finnally I bought the longer size and cut them off. Work perfect.

I was told that Bosche makes you buy the whole arm and blade now. I asked a gentleman at advanced auto parts. Don't know if it is true but I can't find refills to save my life.

There is a perverse logic behind it...namely that the spring in the wiper blade holder does get worn over time and replacing it is not a bad idea. But in our cars our blades get more damage from UV in the sun than actual use in the rain (at least that is true for mine!) so it would be nice to just replace the rubber part.

Personally, I think 911 wipers just suck (at least on my '75).....the blade appears to be merely a means to clean a minority of the windshield....not a blade related problem.

When I last replaced my blades (last fall), I was able to buy long Bosch inserts and trim to fit.

The parts store I went to told me the refill was actually MORE expensive than the whole assembly. Doesn't really make sense but then again how many new cars have 13in. wipers?

Not many ( none ?) of the new cars have 13" blades...but then again....many may have rear window wipers this size, especially the small vans and small wagons.....

might be worth a look

You used to be able to get a pair of rubber refills for less than $10.00, but now you have to buy the whole thing for $20/pr.
Seems like a waste of money for something you really don't need.

In my case I needed the whole thing because mine were faded. I also painted my wiper ars semi gloss black, I got both wiper assemblies for 7.99 each at auto zone.
