Advice on RS badge removal
Pic shows the work of the PO on my engine lid. I guess thats what you call "Bling Factor", right ?
IMO its embarrassing and I want to get rid of the RS part. Need advice : 1. How to remove them without paint damage ? 2. How to centre the Carrera part ? 3. Can I just glue it back or do I need a new one ? Thanks ![]()

I bet some slight heat with a heat gun would work. Just a guess, though.

I have done this before using lighter fluid, use plenty and keep aplying as you lift off the badge, it won't damage the paint but will soften up the adhesive.

I have also used dental floss and then adhesive remover. I used a "natural" citrus kind that worked great and didn't damage paint.

Heat it with a gun or hairdryer and peel it up. Then use 3M adhesive remover (available at any auto paint store and NAPA). 3M adhesive remover works well and does not damage the paint the way some other products do.

I have a similar situation... the PPO had put a Carerra badge on my SC.
It seems the Carerra badge is glued on, but the 911SC badge I want to put on has pins. What if the engine-lid doesn't have holes? Would you recommend careful drilling of the lid, or sanding of the badge and then re-gluing? Babak |

The sc badge is made of a soft metal. If your careful you can remove the pins with a single edged razor blade. At least, that's what I did when I discovered my hood didn't have any holes.
