Integration rear fog light
Hi,
After the change of my muffler with a Dansk 84mm pipe on my 911 78SC Euro, i have another problem the tail pipe is to close to the fog light, i thought to replace my rear reflector with integrated fog lights, who did already this upgrade (can you post some photo's) and is there a document that describes how it should be done. Thanks, Peter |
Hi Peter, I did this project last year - here is a pic
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1142769478.jpg The project is actually not that hard, once you get over the fact that you are having to cut out the holes for the new lights. Here is a quick project list: 1, Remove old reflector, it is a push on fit and needs to be pryed off carefully with a flat blade. 2, The new style reflector needs to be modified slightly by removing the grey plastic lugs that stick out underneath the black plastic top section. 3, There are 5 of these on the reflector, a hot knife is the best thing to cut them off with. 4, The rear panel on the car needs to be marked where the new fog light units will locate 5, Using a drill & jigsaw cut the two rectangular holes in the rear panel. 6, The edges can be covered up with beading although this wont be seen when the reflector is in place. 7, The wiring needs to be threaded through from the original position and connected onto the new fogs with bullet type connectors. 8, With the new reflector held firmly in place 3 holes have to be drilled through the top black section into the top of the panel underneath. 9, 3 self-tapping screws then need to be installed. 10, The new wider rear engine lid gasket will cover the 3 screw heads. |
Hi Pål (Paul),
Looks very nice, thanks a lot for the explanation, didn't you make photo's when you did this upgrade ? Peter |
No sorry, but I will be fitting new bulbs during the next couple of weeks, so i will take some more pics for you.

need photos fo this project, I will add an extra stop lights were the rear fogs go.
|
What part of the project? I first upgraded to the new reflector panel with the fog lights, then I wired them into a relay so that they act as additional stop lights when the fog light switch is off...
