Help!! Electrical nightmare (long)

I've already did a search but did'nt help me.
With the engine off and know key in the ignition I have a alt, brake and oil light. The electrical part of the ignition switch was replaced. With the alternator (new) removed I still have the three lights and the igniton box hums with power (I check the center pin). I have power on pin 14 on the 14 pin connector at the rear fuse panel. The alt light goes out with the plug removed from the voltage regulator. How's the regulator getting power I have know idea except that the schematic shows a diode (not in the alternator). Does any one know where this diode is?
I separated the three red and one black wire on the positive side of the battery and the 3 lights and the ignition control unit come on with the black wire (the one that goes to the starter). My guess is the mystery diode or the PO must have done some wire with the rear fuse panel.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What problem were you originally trying to fix? Were you replacing the electrical portion of the ignition switch?

It's a restoration/engine rebiuld with TBitz EFI. Engine run great, but notice this problem and the engine will not shut off with the key also.

Did it do this all of a sudden or did it only show up after you made changes for the new fuel injection?

There may be a wiring connection error on the ignition switch (terminals P & 15 switched); do the parking lights work with the key out and the engine off?

Yes the parking lights work. The fuel gauge is also on with the key out of the ignition.

Conclusion

All of my troubles were due to the wrong 3 fuse holder that I replaced.
