3.4 guys, tell me your specs

Hey guys, intersted in hearing the specs of your 3.4 NA motors.
Interested in CR, single or twin plug, motronic intake or carbs or itb's, cam, exhaust etc, and if you know how much power it makes.

Building one right now and still undedided on carbs/itb's and what cam to use.

Thanks

I'll go first:

3.4 Ps and Cs
ARP rodbolts
Raceware springs
964 cams
Single plug
Motronic intake (unchanged from stock)
B&B Headers
B&B muffler (going soon to an MK Exhaust muffler)
Compression ratio 9.8/1
Custom Steve Wong chip

Dynoed with the stock exhaust (including cat) at 207 RWHP or roughly 245 FWHP. I'm waiting to put it on the dyno again until I get the MK muffler, but I'm hoping for another 20hp out of the B&B/MK combo.

Hope this helps.

Ho ho Ho,
Colin at Ninemeister just got 303bhp from a 3.5 using 964 black plastic induction, and 993 cams.

He's done everything with this engine step by step as its changed customer hands. the latest evolution is the absolute limit.

I think you can find him on here, but probably on (shhh) Rennlist.

My 3.4 is built w/ the Mahle Sport 10.5:1 P/C set, Carillo rods, Aase springs, Webcam 171e and PMO 50 carbs. It is single-plugged at the moment so I run a 97 octane race-gas blend in it. It dynoed at 280 RWHP with a full race setup (open exhaust and big venturi/jetting). In street trim, rejetted w/ smaller venturis and a Pete Weber/Jerry Woods Quiet Horsepower header setup with Phase 9 mufflers and crosschamber, it made 256 RWHP on a Dynojet.

I am really itching to twin-plug it and go to EFI with ITBs, but can't justify the expense at the moment.

Little larger than 3.4L but close enough.

100mm Mahle Pistons/Cylinders w/ 9.5:1 CR
Stock 74.4mm 3.2L crank & rods
Boat tailed & Shuffle pinned case
Twin-Plug w/ 993 distributor & Andial Signal Splitter
Extrude Honed Intake Plenums
Bored Throttle Body
Web-Cam 20/21 Camshafts
George Narbel's 1 5/8" OD Headers
Monty dual-out sport muffler
Custom Steve Wong chip

Motor makes a peak of 246 whp and 224 torque on Dynojet 248C running 91 octane. Other than the headers, motor passes CA emissions no problem. Close to a 50 horsepower increase with much more low-mid range torque on the same dyno over a 3.2L with chip, pre-muffler and sport muffler.

Andial just finished building a 3.5L LONG STROKE using Mahle 98mm Pistons/Cylinders and a 76.4mm 3.6L crankshaft. Motor is twin-plugged w/ 10:1 CR using 993 distributor and their signal splitter. Still Motronic. Cams are a special grind but I will not post specs. Intake plenums are opened up, polished and welded back together, similar to what Extrude Honing accomplishes. This motor made 297 horsepower on Andial's engine dyno using race gas and powers a 2,200 lb. car with a basic chip. Optimized chip tuning for race gas will increase power a bit more.

Jeff,
I didn't. It was Stephen at Imagineauto.com. I do know he had some issues with it, so you may want to ask him if he would recommend the system. I think the conventional wisdom is that it is a very well designed and flexible solution without much technical support...

I may be building something very similar. Can you tell me what timing your 964 cams were set at?

not if you build it right. It's built to handle 1.3 or so and we backed it down so it'll live longer. Keep in mind that it doesn't hit full boost until third gear and if you keep your foot in it for more than about 10 seconds your are over 150 mph...
