Fender flare question

I have a question re turbo flares. I am considering putting them on my 75 911s project. Has anyone done the fibreglass flares? They are so much cheaper than the regualr flares. What is the difference?

Also, how do you put on the fiberglass ones, since you cant weld them in, like a patch panel.

Thanks!

As for attaching the fiberglass ones I can't answer as for the steel ones you "should" use them. Steel is more colorfast and it won't turn to spider webs from the rocks and road debris that will be hitting the underside. We just had a thread like this one. Try the serch Your question will be answered

Usually, fiberglass is glued on.

If they are glued on, then do you fix the seams with bondo?

Lots of work

The steel flares are VERY labor intensive, but the outcome is well worth the time, effort and money!

I would make the effort to go metal. the P.O on my 69 installed GRP flares. They were actually installed with the help of some kind of blind rivet. After many years you can now see the line of raised heads along the attachment line. I assume there is some kind of corrosion going on there or the rivets have loosened or somthing. So far there is no broken bubbling, the surface appears quite solid so I will leave alone for a while
