930 arrives!

I took delivery of my 930 on Friday. Thought I'd post some pics of it and my SC (soon to be put up for sale - anyone looking?).

Acceleration is UNBELIEVABLE! Will break the wheels loose in 2nd. Dyno papers show 333 hp and 367 lb/ft at the wheels. I can't wipe the stupid grin off my face! I've never driven anything like it before.

Wait.......wait......wait......and then all hell breaks loose.

Some details:

-1987 930
-87,000 miles (37,000 miles on top end rebuild)
-B&B headers and muffler
-Garrett hybrid turbo
-SC cams
-1 bar wastegate
-adjustable boost control

I purchased the car from a Rennlister. Car was shipped to Toronto from Tennessee. The seller was very forthcoming, honest, and helpful. The car was exactly as described.

Time for some DE.

Kirk

I used a Toronto based company called TFX International.

They handled everything including all the customs paperwork.

Hey Kirk,

I'm in the beaches and bought mine last September from Minnesota. I was going to ship it but decided to go and pick it up. I may not have as much HP as yours as mine is/was stock.

She looks great (actually both of them do), congratulations. Ironically, mine is an '87 as well, but it had 91K miles on it.

Nice car.. lol

Mark,

Aside from the tailpipe you'd have a tough time telling them apart!

Kirk,

I actually put on a B&B exhaust over the course of the winter, I snaped those pictures before putting it away for the winter.. so they look identical except for the tail light. My third brake light is inside the car, not sure why they are different.

It had the side boxed rocker panels when I bought it (the ones you see on the slant nose) and I did not like it so I traded with a guy for the regular rocker panes.

What tires are you running? I ask because the rears are almost done for on mine. They are currently Yokohama AVS Sports.

I haven't paid much attention, but I'm pretty sure they're Michelin Pilot sports.

Congrats Kirk! Looks like a great car. You might want to post your SC on the canada section as I know there are a few guys looking for an SC.

Kirk,

Make sure to do your DE BEFORE you reach your own cusp of adhesion.
That way we will have you still here for a few more posts and pics !
Eighties red or not - that's a great looking ride !

Cheers,
Dennis.

Very nice!
The "Snorkel" 3rd brake-light just doesn't look right.
Inside bottom-location is good.
There is a very nice, elegant solution: A slim one that mounts outside on the top of the window and fits right on to the roof-edge.
Enjoy!

Great car! My Guards Red '87 Turbo has the inside upper window mount 3rd brake light, which I removed because I sit tall and it blocks out the police cars. I am installing a under lip spoiler mounted 3rd brake light this summer.

Sure, I'll sell it. It is complete with bulb and screws. Clean and in perfect condition. I have never tried to mount it on the rear deck. let me set it there and see what it looks like.
