What year is this grill from??

Any ideas what year this is correct for? All metal. Never had any insignias attached to it. Thanks

It appears to have a greyish finish on the bars, which would make it 72-73. 69 through 71 were a bright anodized finish.

It looks like it was mostly black but has weathered to grayish

Just installed a (DIY) restored metal one in place of my plastic one. '76 car...the first with plastic? I think. Mine came off a '72 and DID have a 2.4 badge I removed....so this must be from '69 or earlier.

That would be 72-73 (myabe 75-76, not sure) if it has a weathered greyish black finish. Someone might have removed the badge at some point, but earlier ones were bright finish. Pre 69 (SWB) had vertical bars as well.

Dave,
Right, but did the 2.2 cars all have a badge or not? If so, then this grill he is talking about must be...what? '69 or prior, right?

Dan,
I think 2.4 cars were first with the badge. The 2.2 had the rear window engine size decal to set them apart. See my edited comment above.

But then again, I could be talking out my butt...

I know for certain that my '76 had a plastic grill. And now I remember of course the "2,2" window decal.

Interesting, I had never thought of it but ONLY the 2.4 cars ever came with a grill badge, hmmm?
