I'm no expert 'yet' on the trim. But my 71 'T' had trim rubber that is a least 2 in. tall and about 1/4" thick. Also that's all there is. there is not any metal that surrounds these pieces. Just the rubber strip. Same for the front bumper, just a flat rubber strip. Hope this helps.

The S has wider bumper trim than the T or E. Although by around 1969 or 1970 this wider S trim was made available to the T & E as an option. It doesn't matter whether or not you run an early S spoiler or a bumper without a spoiler. The trim fits on both.

Thanks to everyone!
Another problem I have is that the trim does not have the same shape as the bumper. The bumper has a more circular shape, and the trim is closer to a rectangle. I must have the bumper from another model....I guess..,.

If the trim strip (aluminum) is new you will have to shape and fit it to your car. This is done by annealing with heat and then quenching with cold water. This will make the aluminum very ductile and easy to shape without cracking.

This has been covered in the archives but I can't find the thread.
