NJ Pelicans, I need an appraisal
I'm looking into classic car insurance here in NJ. As my current insurance is through Encompass, I will be going through Hagerty. I told my agent I wanted an agreed upon value, he suggested I get it appraised. Where can I get my car appraised?

Poop, looks like I might be excited for nothing from info about Hagerty in this thread. I'll see how this plays out anyway

Try Great American. I lived in Hoboken for a bit and they insured Phoenix for an agreed upon value of $25k with no appraisal needed. Total annual cost was somewhere around $250. I still use them though am now in NY.

I used to have Hagerty on my 68 Mustang, and all they asked for was some pictures. I came to an agreement on the value over the phone with them when setting up the policy. They did not require an appraisal at the time...perhaps they have changed their policy.

Most of the collector car insurers will do an agreed value over the phone if the value is estimated at $25k or less. North of that requires a professional appraiser.

Ok thanks for the info. Hey Rick, how has your experience with sneed been thus far? Seems like that might be the way to go if I want to drive my car to work occasionally?
I'll check out Great American too
