Houston, we have .5 bar (finally)

Ok, major smiles. Finally got the Protosport kit working, and boost is like, well, what I imagine crack must be. Thank god I don't have a boost controller, or I'd be busting ring lands right and left. Boost hits hard at around 3700 or so, then its a rush to the redline.

After a major panic episode when I first installed the kit and had no boost, I pulled the compressor elbow, and sure enough, the turbo wouldn't spin. Turned out that there shouldn't be a gasket on the hot side, and the one I had made for there (it looked like the surfaces would never mate) was unecessary and it chunked apart, and the little pieces stuck the hot side wheel. Freed it up, reinstalled, and all is well.

Did need to put a 1/4 in spacer on the wheel to get the 255 Azenis to clear the elbow, I'm going to have to find a narrower piece or roll the fender slightly.

So, do I need to run a air/fuel meter now, or is the rr regulator reliable enough?

CONGRATS!!! If you are running the Proto RR Regulator and CHIP as a matched pair, I wouldn't worry about the A/F's. They're already matched to run at a safe A/F ratio. If you want, just get the car on a dyno and hook it up to an exhaust gas analyser to verify your A/F's under load. You'll be fine! Happy boosting!!!

P.S: Soon you'll want to intercool that baby and run 0.7bar

PPS: Trust me, you DON'T want an EBC/MBC! BTDT! Not a good feeling when you play with the boost and crack a ring land

FYI, file or Dremel a barb on the lip of the AFM where the 90 degree elbow slides onto, then clamp the boot down. It will never slide off under boost
